…urges South East to be strategic
From Uchenna Inya, Abakaliki
Minister of Works, David Umahi has declared that no power or force can defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in next year’s presidential election.
Umahi said the president has done extremely well and will be re-elected at the poll despite the coming together of the opposition elements.
The Minister stated this while opening the 15km completed section of the Enugu-Onitsha expressway.
He said the President inherited bad economy which he is fixing, especially the micro economy and that the macro economy of the nation was breathing very well under his administration.
“When you talk about fuel economy and so on and so forth, a strategic meeting was held yesterday on how to handle the unfortunate incident of the Iran war which has brought hardship on our people, so, the president is not asleep on this”, he said.
He urged the people of south east to be strategic and support Tinubu’s re-election as according to him, the President has done so much for the zone more than any other administration in the county.
Umahi opined that his mouth will not close in telling the people of the region to support the President, in leading them, in appealing to them to be wise and very strategic politically.
“it is important that our people are strategic. We should be strategic. We will not mount the seat of the presidency by foul language, by may-wish.
“Nobody will give it to us. We have to be strategic, and I will not stop telling the South east, anything I tell you now, go and write it, because it will come to pass. No matter who has the tickets, presidential tickets of other political parties Mr. President will win the general election.
“Southeast people must be strategic to support the president. The marginalization we are talking about is over. For the first time, your son is Minister of Works.
“Yes, the south east deserves to be president but in 2023, we gave that right, Southern president, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We all met in Asaba, all the Southern Governors and we said it’s our turn, Emilokan, Emilokan will be over in 2031.”
“My mouth will not close in telling the people of South East, in leading them, in appealing to them for us to be wise.
“We will vote for our brother in South-West, when it’s our turn, they will vote for us, that’s the strategy”, he said.
Umahi, a former Governor of Ebonyi state, boasted that the south east will give the President 80 percent votes in the 2027 presidential election.
