Former Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, said incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke would ruin his political future by joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oyinlola stated this as a guest on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Thursday.
Rumour of Adeleke’s purported plot to join the APC have gained traction since he publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
However, Oyinlola, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, said the governor was being pressurised to join the APC but could regret such a move.
He said, “APC has not fared well with the people of Osun.
“Telling him to roll over to APC will mean ruining his political future. Obviously, the people will not go along with that. He knows that, but there is pressure on him.”
Oyinlola lamented the withholding of the state’s local government allocation for the past six months, saying it has hampered grassroots governance.
“It’s now six months since the local government allocation in Osun state has been withheld, which means the people of Osun state have been shortchanged because the local government is no longer running.
“As governor, whom the people have reposed their confidence in to govern them well, he must do something to ensure that the government is running well,” the ex-governor said.
