Aisha Achimugu at it again

By Funsho Arogundade

As an industrialist, philanthropist, and humanitarian, Dr. Aisha Suleman Achimugu represents a new generation of Nigerian leadership: bold, solutions-driven, and unshakably committed to national development. Through her dual roles as Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Felak Concept Group and President of the SAM Empowerment Foundation (SEF), she exemplifies how private sector influence and civic responsibility can combine to shape a more prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

It is a fact that Achimugu is endowed with the proverbial Midas touch, as all she has ventured into has thrived so well, with enviable rewards to show for it. But one other side of her that has been grossly underreported is the fact that this elegant business tycoon has a rare sense of fellow-feeling. And, indeed, every pore of her body oozes humanity. Perhaps, this explains why she founded the empowerment initiative many years ago to give succor to the needy; wipe the tears on the faces of suffering lots around her and provide a soothing balm to those whose bodies and souls harbor pains.

Achimugu’s voice carries weight not only because of her eloquence but also because of her track record. Since founding SEF in 2013, she has led numerous initiatives that directly support vulnerable communities across Nigeria. These include health outreaches, educational programs, entrepreneurship workshops, and women empowerment schemes. Her vision is rooted in empathy, and her impact is anchored in consistency.

Last week, Achimugu received another award from the management of a national newspaper that honoured her foundation as the Most Outstanding NGO of the Year.

Receiving the award in her office the businesswoman thanked the organisers of the award and the recognition as a statement to the countless hours, dedication, and passion poured into empowering communities, inspiring hope, and creating lasting change.
