The mass defection and endorsement took place on Saturday during a mega rally and thanksgiving celebration organized by the Sustenance of Faith in Governance (SOFIG) Family, popularly known as the Ikwukuoma SOFIG Family, marking the movement’s 6th anniversary.
The grand occasion, which doubled as an endorsement rally and fundraising event, saw a convergence of thousands of SOFIG members, political stakeholders, party faithful, and grassroots mobilizers, signaling a major political realignment in the state.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Prince Ukachukwu, fondly called Ikwukuoma, expressed profound appreciation to the SOFIG Family for their unprecedented show of solidarity.
“This is the first time I’ve been shown such overwhelming support without being asked for a single kobo. SOFIG has invested in this journey with faith, love, and commitment. This is not politics as usual this is a divine movement rooted in family, community, and vision,” Ukachukwu declared.
He pledged to usher in a new era of inclusive, integrity-driven governance in Anambra, emphasizing that change must begin from the ward level and ascend to the statehouse.
“Within this crowd are tomorrow’s councillors, LG chairmen, and Assembly members. We are building a new political leadership from the bottom up.”
Senator Uche Ekwunife: “Prince Ukachukwu Is the Leader Anambra Needs”
Deputy governorship candidate Senator (Iyom) Uche Ekwunife delivered a rousing speech, stressing that Prince Ukachukwu is the visionary leader fit to deliver Anambra from stagnation.
“The time is ripe. Prince Nicholas is trustworthy, God-fearing, and ready. Our victory must begin at the ward level and blaze across all 901 wards of Anambra Central and beyond.”
She hailed the twin founders of SOFIG, Dr. (Bar) Kingsley Ezekwelu and Dr. Kenneth Ezekwelu, for creating what she described as one of the most impactful political platforms in Nigeria.
SOFIG’s National President, Dr. Kingsley K. Ezekwelu, Esq., made the movement’s endorsement official, announcing a staggering ₦150 million donation to the Ukachukwu/Ekwunife campaign.
“We are more than 35,000 members strong, including the 32,000 defectors from APGA today. This is not just an endorsement it’s a mission. We have come of age, and we are ready to win this battle with our PVCs, Dr. Ezekwelu emphasized.
