From Kenneth Udeh

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, has congratulated Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his emergence as the National Chairman of the APC, describing it as a timely and strategic move that will recalibrate the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released on Monday, the House of Representatives hopeful for 2027, popularly known as Ignes, hailed Prof Yilwatda as a technocrat of exceptional pedigree whose academic brilliance and public service experience have uniquely prepared him for the task of leading the ruling party at a crucial period in Nigeria’s political journey.

“Your emergence as National Chairman comes at a defining moment for our party and nation. It is a well-deserved recognition of your intellectual depth, unwavering loyalty, and tireless dedication to national progress,” Ogbonna stated.

“As a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, your tenure was marked by visionary leadership, strategic reforms, and people-centred policies. These, combined with your impressive academic background, will no doubt steer our party towards unity, growth, and renewed public trust,” he added.

Ogbonna, who is widely regarded as a rising grassroots mobiliser in Abia politics, expressed confidence that Yilwatda’s leadership would usher in an era of strengthened internal democracy, inclusivity, and strategic innovation within the APC.

“We foresee a rejuvenated APC under your guidance, one that will build on the strategic alliances and progressive vision championed by our dear President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Your appointment is not only a reward for your past contributions but also a call to chart a bold new course for our party,” the statement read.
