Daniella Okamgba, a 2024 Law graduate of Babcock University (BU), Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has emerged as one of the standing students at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja graduation ceremony.
Okamgba graduated with a First Class and went home with five awards for her outstanding academic performance at the 2025 Call to Bar ceremony held in Abuja, FCT.
Her awards include: Justice Olujide Shomolu award for best student in Civil Litigation; Mr. D. D. Dodo (SAN) award for best female student in Civil Litigation; Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar award for best female student in Civil Litigation! Chief T.O.S Benson (SAN) award for best student of the year (3rd prize) and prize for First Class student.
The 2025 Bar ceremony marked a historic milestone, with 5,728 new lawyers being called to the bar, the highest number in Nigeria’s legal history.
Nigerian Body of Benchers and the Law School organized the graduation event.
Babcock University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof Ademola Tayo, expressed pride in Okamgba’s achievement, describing it as “great and news worthy.”
“We are truly happy over this news. She and nine others from Babcock have brought honour to the university. I pray for God’s blessings upon everyone of them.”
“For Okamgba, this is the beginning of great things to come, and we wish her well in all her endeavors,” the VC noted.
