From Kenneth Udeh, Lagos
Lagos was thrown into mourning on Thursday after a young woman, known as Deborah Porshe, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Lintex Ogali, who disguised himself as a dispatch rider to gain access to her residence.
Deborah, a native of Benue State and a recent National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) graduate, was described as a hardworking interior decorator pursuing her career when tragedy struck.

According to eyewitness accounts, Ogali arrived at Deborah’s Estate in Lagos dressed in dispatch gear, pretending to deliver a package.
When security personnel phoned Deborah to confirm the delivery, she reportedly said she was not expecting any parcel. Despite this, Ogali allegedly found his way into the Estate.
Once inside, he was said to have cut off the gas cylinder pipe in what appeared to be an effort to cause an explosion. When that failed, he allegedly forced his way into Deborah’s apartment and stabbed her multiple times, killing her instantly.
In a desperate attempt to evade mob justice, Ogali reportedly stabbed himself and feigned death but was later discovered alive and handed over to the police.
Family sources revealed that Deborah had ended the relationship in August 2023 after enduring repeated abuse and maltreatment. However, Ogali allegedly refused to move on, resorting to stalking, threats, and harassment.
In a voice note obtained by The Sun said to be Deborah’s sister tearfully recounted her ordeal;
“She broke up with him over a year ago, around August last year. This is the second year of their breakup and the guy has refused to move on.
“He keeps saying things like, ‘If I don’t have you, nobody will,’ and ‘If I don’t marry you, blood will flow.’ Because of that, she stopped picking strange numbers because he kept pestering her.
“My sister was a very hardworking girl. She just finished NYSC, she was an interior decorator trying to find her footing. Is the relationship by force?”
The gruesome killing sparked chaos in the community as shocked residents gathered at the scene. Many expressed disbelief that a relationship dispute could end in such a brutal act.
While the suspect has been taken into custody, the Lagos State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement, though investigations are ongoing.
On social media, the incident has triggered widespread outrage, with many Nigerians condemning the rise of intimate partner violence. Friends and family described Deborah as vibrant, ambitious, and committed to her dreams, making her death a devastating loss to those who knew her.
