The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday distanced itself from the activities of one of its dismissed staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin.
Folarin was reported to have recently appeared in a matchmaking programme hosted on one Leke Miami’s social media platforms.

Reacting to the development on Monday, EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale said Folarin, a former driver at the Commission’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was dismissed for certificate forgery.
According to the EFCC, despite his dismissal, Folarin has continued to parade himself as a serving officer.
The Commission revealed that he is still in possession of some of its properties, including an identity card that should have been surrendered.
According to Oyewale, the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, has ordered Folarin’s arrest for unlawful possession of official items.
The anti-graft agency urged the public not to associate the ex-staff’s post-dismissal conduct with the Commission.
“Folarin was recently dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. He was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.
“The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede has ordered his arrest for being in possession of some Commission’s properties, including an Identity Card, which he should have handed over upon being dismissed from the EFCC.
“The public is advised against associating Folarin’s post-dismissal conduct with the EFCC,” Oyewale said.
