The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano Strategic Command has arrested a 29-year-old man, Adamu Yusuf with a substantial cache of Tramadol capsules.

Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics and the Public Relations Officer of Kano Strategic Command confirmed this in a statement on Monday.
The suspect, he disclosed, was apprehended on Saturday, August 23, 2025 by operatives of the agency attached to the Kiru Area Command, along Zaria-Kano Road, Kwanar Dangora area, while he was coming from Lagos.
“The suspect had cleverly concealed 7,000 capsules of Tramadol, weighing 4.1 kilograms, in a 20-liter oil jerrycan. However, the NDLEA operatives demonstrated exceptional expertise in detecting hidden substances”
“This successful arrest underscores the agency’s unwavering commitment to disrupting the supply chain of illicit substances and ensuring community safety,” the statement held.
The Commander of the Kano Strategic Command, ACGN AI Ahmad, has since commended the operatives for their diligence and professionalism, while also expressing gratitude to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen.Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), for his continued support and guidance.
The Command restated its commitment to rid the state of illicit substances while appreciating the collaboration and support of the public.
