According to the Executive Director, Impact Her World Foundation, Mrs Nkechika Ibe, targets girls in public schools, urban slums, rural areas, and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.

The goal of the initiative is to improve menstrual health, reducing school absenteeism, and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation.

Mrs Ibe said the partnership between WAN, under the leadership of Dr. Funmi Ige and her organisation is a confirmation of their organisations’ commitment in addressing issues affecting girl child.

“Too many girls in Nigeria miss out on school, opportunities, and self-confidence because they lack access to basic menstrual products.

“With DIGNIFY ME, we believe every girl deserves a healthy menstrual experience, dignity, comfort, and an equal opportunity to thrive,” she said.

The initiative includes both fundraising and sanitary product donation drives, calling on individuals, communities, and corporate partners to contribute either funds or sanitary pads.

She disclosed that the collected resources will be used to produce and distribute period kits directly to girls in need, with distribution focusing on areas where access is limited or non-existent.

With the initiative, the foundation hopes to not only improve the health and wellbeing of girls but also foster a supportive environment that empowers them to stay in school and live with dignity.
