Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has commended the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, for revitalising the agency through groundbreaking innovations.

According to a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, Akume gave the commendation during a courtesy visit from the FRSC delegation led by Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, accompanied by Saul Billingsley, Executive Director of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Foundation, in Abuja.

“The Corps Marshal, since assumption of office, has introduced a lot of innovations and improvements to the system, and these things are going to be unveiled tomorrow during the lecture. He has done quite a lot and is still doing well for the sector,” Sen. Akume stated, praising the impact these changes have had on the agency’s operations.

The SGF also acknowledged the global efforts of FIA Foundation Executive Director Saul Billingsley, highlighting his advocacy for road safety and his campaign to prevent road traffic deaths worldwide. “Nigeria is wearing a new look because of the efforts the present administration has put in across the country,” he added.

Earlier, Mohammed explained that the visit aimed to update the SGF on the upcoming 8th Annual FRSC Lecture Series and to formally introduce the guest lecturer, Saul Billingsley, whose work on road mobility safety and environmental impact has been instrumental in advancing these issues.

Saul Billingsley affirmed the FIA Foundation’s commitment to collaborating with governments and civil society organisations to reduce road traffic casualties and promote sustainable transport solutions.
