FUPRE injects new courses, opens portal for supplementary Post-UTME screening

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun, Delta State, has officially announced the opening of its portal for the 2025/2026 supplementary Post-UTME screening exercise, ust as it urges qualified candidates to take advantage of this and apply for admission into several newly introduced undergraduate degree programmes in the institution.

Making this disclosure in a statement signed by the its Registrar, Dr. Mrs. E. Jane Omoyine, and made available to newsmen in Warri, yesterday, the institution noted that essence of introducing the new courses was to position it in meeting up with the yearnings of students who desired training in these newly introduced vocations.

The Registrar explained further that “the supplementary screening is part of FUPRE’s broader academic expansion and admission growth strategy aimed at meeting increasing manpower demands and delivering quality, industry-driven education”.

 

According to the Registrar, “the exercise is being conducted specifically to admit candidates into its newly established programmes across three of its colleges”.

 

The press release added that FUPRE has continued to position itself as Africa’s first petroleum university, offering accredited programmes that provide hands-on training and strong industry links, ensuring excellent career prospects in science, oil and gas, maritime, and management sectors.

The statement partly reads, “In the College of Science, FUPRE now offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Petroleum Chemistry.

 

“The College of Petroleum Administration and Management (CPAM) has introduced four new programmes, including Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, Petroleum Information Management, and Entrepreneurship.

 

“Additionally, the College of Maritime and Offshore Studies has commenced Bachelor of Science programmes in Maritime Transport and Logistics, as well as Maritime Economics and Finance”.

The statement noted that “eligible candidates are required to have scored 170 or above in the 2025 UTME, must have missed the earlier FUPRE Post-UTME screening, and should not have been offered admission elsewhere”.

 

It added that “applicants must also meet both UTME and O’Level subject requirements specific to their chosen courses”.

 

The statement continued, “The University has set the screening fee at ₦2,000, with the application deadline slated for Sunday, 14th September 2025.

“Screening exercises will take place from Monday, 15th September to Tuesday, 16th September 2025, at the FUPRE Ultra-Modern ICT Centre between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM daily.

 

“Interested candidates can apply online via the official portal at https://utme.fupre.edu.ng by completing the registration form, uploading a passport photograph and relevant credentials, and printing out the confirmation slip.

 

“For further enquiries, prospective applicants can contact the admissions office via phone at 08025627549 or 07017324801, or send an email to admissions@fupre.edu.ng. More information is also available on the university’s official website, www.fupre.edu.ng”.
