Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface has completed his rehabilitation in Leverkusen and returned to the Weser River.
The 25-year-old will complete his first individual training session at the Weser Stadium today.
“Victor will train individually for the entire week initially. Afterwards, he will be carefully reintroduced to team training, so that we hope he can still play this season,” explains Peter Niemeyer, Head of Professional Football.
Whether the loanee from Bayer 04 Leverkusen can actually become a factor in the fight to avoid relegation will become clear in the coming days and weeks. “We’re happy he’s back, but we still have to wait and see how he handles the increased workload,” Fritemphasiseses. If there are no setbacks in his individual training sessions this week, Victor Boniface could be “carefully reintroduced to team training” as early as next week , as Werder’s head of professional football, Peter Niemeyer, explained in a club statement. Since the Bundesliga season runs until May 16th, it seems quite conceivable that the striker will be back on the pitch for Werder Bremen – or at least be an option for head coach Daniel Thioune. Niemeyer confirms this: “We’re hopeful that he can still make an appearance this season.”
