The Masterpiece Resource Development Centre (MRDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship in Nigeria and across Africa. This announcement follows the successful completion of the International Labour Organisation’s Start and Improve Your Business Training-of-Trainers program in Lagos, conducted in collaboration with the NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women.
Modupe Oyekunle, the Founder and CEO of MRDC, emphasized the organization’s mission to discover, develop, and deploy youth and women entrepreneurs. She stated that MRDC focuses on building capacity, encouraging mentoring, and creating networking platforms to foster a collaborative ecosystem where entrepreneurs can support one another.
Key highlights of MRDC’s initiatives include:
- Training Programs: The organization offers comprehensive training modules such as “Generate Your Business Idea,” “Start Your Business,” and “Improve Your Business.” These programs aim to equip entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to succeed, whether they are just starting or looking to scale their businesses.
- Mentorship: MRDC has developed a strong internal faculty of trainers who provide mentorship grounded in real-world experience. This approach ensures that participants receive practical guidance tailored to their specific needs.
- Global Standards: By adopting the ILO’s globally recognized Train-the-Trainer certification, MRDC has elevated the quality of business support it offers, aligning local entrepreneurs with international best practices.
Participants in the training have reported significant benefits, including improved business planning and operational efficiency. Toyin Benjamin, a participant, noted that the training helped her identify flaws in her business operations, while Oriola Oluwatosin described it as a powerful tool for growth.
As MRDC continues to expand its reach, it aims to empower more entrepreneurs and contribute to the economic development of Nigeria and the broader African continent.
