Mayegun of Ewu Kingdom, Oshodi, Lagos, Chief Michael Fatoye, has paid tribute to his late mentor, Teslim Adeola Almaroof, five years after his passing.
In a commemorative message marking the fifth anniversary, Chief Fatoye described the late businessman as a visionary leader and compassionate mentor, whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
Teslim Adeola Almaroof, former head of the Arota/Ologun family in Orile Oshodi, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State, passed away on July 2, 2020.

He was widely known for his towering achievements in the real estate sector as well as his commitment to community service and philanthropy.
“Chief Almaroof was a rare breed, a great creature. His remarkable empathy, tireless dedication to leadership and unwavering commitment to the betterment of his community earned him a place in the hearts of many,” said Chief Fatoye.
Recalling their close relationship, Fatoye praised Almaroof’s mentorship and guidance, crediting him with playing a pivotal role in his personal and professional development.
“He guided me like a true mentor, corrected me like a father and celebrated me like a friend. His memory continues to live with me every single day,” he stated.
He also highlighted Almaroof’s role as a unifying figure within the Arota/Ologun family and the broader Oshodi community, noting his ability to balance tradition with modern leadership.
“He brought stability and dignity to our family heritage and stood as a bridge between the past and the future,” he said.
He extended special recognition to Almaroof’s widow, Mrs. Lilian Margret Almaroof, commending her resilience and dedication in preserving her late husband’s legacy.
“Mama Lilian was the rock behind the rock. She stood by him through thick and thin and continues to honour his memory with quiet strength and unwavering loyalty,” he said.
He concluded with a call to action for community leaders and stakeholders to honour Almaroof’s legacy by promoting values he championed, such as unity, integrity and service.
“We should build on his foundation, not just in estate matters, but in how we treat one another, uplift our communities and lead with honour,” he urged.
