Ododo receives APC’s winning team from Okura

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has received the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) winning team from the just concluded by-election in Okura State Constituency, Dekina Local Government Area.

The APC candidate, Hassan Yakubu Musa, won with 55,073 votes to defeat Godwin Meliga of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 1,038 votes.

Presenting himself and the results, Musa thanked Ododo for his massive support throughout the process. He assured the governor and the people of Okura that he would work with his colleagues to make laws that would support the administration’s drive for a better Kogi State.

Ododo charged him to prioritise service to his people. “Your election result shows the faith of the people of Okura Constituency in our party, the All Progressives Congress and in your personality. We cannot afford to let them down.”

He noted that the APC would continue to prosper in Kogi, noting that the policies of President Bola Tinubu had empowered his administration to do more for the grassroots.

He also urged the people of Kogi to continue to support the APC as the dominant party in the state.

The winner was presented to the governor by the Auditor General, Alhaji Yakubu Omala, the state APC secretary, Mr. Joshua Onoja, the Dekina LG chairman, John Ikani and several other party stalwarts.
