Ahead of the 2026 governorship poll in Osun State, a women’s group, Iron Ladies, has promised to mobilise one million votes for Bola Oyebamiji, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), to become the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group also promised to mobilise one million votes in support of President Bola Tinubu through rigorously and door-to-door campaign across the state.
The State Coordinator, Osun APC Iron Ladies Group, Deaconess Adesola Ayangbile, made this known in her welcome remarks at the inauguration, launching and award giving ceremony of the group, held at Ilerioluwa Campaign Office, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo,
According to her, “The Lord has chosen for us a man of vision and mission, whose warmth and kindness have touched many hearts. He is someone who has a remarkable ability to connect with the people and his generosity and compassion are inspiring.
In his remarks, immediate past Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, extolled the women’s virtues and immeasurable contributions to the success and progress of the party thus far. He enjoined them not to relent in the collective efforts to build a virile and formidable party.
In his acceptance speech, Oyebamiji, represented by his spouse, Dr. Sekinat Oyebamiji, thanked the Iron Ladies for endorsing him. He described them as indispensable companions in politics and salt in the political soup.
