The Kano State Nigeria Police Command has arrested a total of 333 suspects for various electoral offenses during the conduct of Saturday’s bye and re- run elections in Ghari, Bagwai and Shanono LGAs of the state.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, while briefing the press at Bompai Police headquarters of the Command, disclosed that the suspects were arrested for disrupting the electoral process in the area.

He added that all the suspects had been charged to Magistrate Courts Number :20, 27, 44 at Nomansland, Kano and Magistrate Courts Number 8 and 53 at Gyadi-Gyadi area of the state.
He explained that their charges include: criminal conspiracy, disorderly conduct, possession of offensive weapons, Intimidation, loitering without lawful excuse after voting snatching or destruction of election materials, improper use of vehicles, and solicitation for votes of another voter on election day.
He said that they recovered different exhibits from the suspects,among which include: one Pump Action Gun , five locally made guns, 16 swords. 28 cutlasses,18 knives, 32 locally made weapons, one bow and 23 arrows.
He noted that other exhibits recovered from the suspects include: 163 thump printed ballot papers, two ballot boxes, 14 motor vehicles and N4.048 million among others.
He stressed that the Command was committed to ensuring that justice was served and that those who sought to undermine the democratic process were held accountable.
