Sophos, a security solutions company, has been recognized as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP).
This marked the 16th consecutive time Sophos has achieved this status. Since the inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant for EPP in 2007, Sophos has maintained its position at the forefront, continuously evolving its offerings to combat sophisticated cyber threats. The company’s endpoint security solutions, including Sophos Endpoint powered by Intercept X, Sophos Extended Detection and Response (EDR/XDR), and Sophos Managed Detection and Response (MDR), are trusted by over 300,000 organizations worldwide. These solutions are designed to defend against advanced remote ransomware attacks and active adversaries, incorporating unique adaptive defenses that dynamically adjust protection levels based on threat context.
Kyle Falkenhagen, SVP, Product Management at Sophos, emphasized the company’s strategic approach stating, “Sophos’ strength lies in its prevention-first strategy, designed to stop breaches before they start, adapt defenses in real time, and strengthen detection and response when it matters most. We believe that receiving this recognition in the highly competitive endpoint security market for 16 consecutive reports reflects our relentless focus on developing innovative solutions that stay ahead of the global threat landscape and the adversaries we face every day.”
A significant development for Sophos in early 2025 was the acquisition of Secureworks. This move combined two leading and complementary portfolios, creating a comprehensive suite of solutions for small, midmarket, and enterprise organizations. As a direct benefit of this integration, Secureworks Taegis XDR customers can now leverage Sophos Endpoint to enhance their cyber defenses at no additional charge, delivering both improved protection and a stronger return on investment.
Furthermore, the integration of Secureworks introduced a new Counter Threat Unit (CTU) to the Sophos X-Ops advanced threat response joint task force. This addition significantly expands the rich threat intelligence that underpins all Sophos customers’ defenses. The CTU, backed by Sophos’ advanced security technologies and a broad network of intelligence contacts, plays a crucial role in identifying and tracking threat actors, analyzing anomalous activity, and uncovering new attack techniques and shifts in the threat landscape.
Beyond its consistent leadership in the Gartner Magic Quadrant, Sophos has also been named a “Customers’ Choice” vendor in the 2025 Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer Report for Endpoint Protection Platforms for the fourth consecutive year.
Sophos is the only vendor to receive this distinction in both the EPP report and the inaugural Voice of the Customer Report for Extended Detection and Response, further solidifying its reputation for customer satisfaction and product excellence.
