President Bola Tinubu is currently in a crucial meeting with governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) this evening at the State House, Abuja.
The gathering, which began at 7:00 p.m. in the conference hall, saw members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) come together ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is leading 23 APC governors to this high-profile session, which insiders describe as pivotal to the party’s future course amid ongoing internal dynamics.
Notably, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji were among the first to arrive at the venue as others followed.
During the meeting, President Tinubu is expected to provide an update on the Federal Government’s current policy initiatives and discuss the party’s internal matters, including efforts to reach a consensus on the new APC National Chairman, a position left vacant by the resignation of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje last month.
The discussions tonight are anticipated to influence key decisions at Thursday’s NEC meeting, where party leadership and strategic directions will be finalised.
The upcoming NEC session is regarded as critical, setting the tone for APC’s cohesion and leadership ahead of important political events nationwide.
