Tinubu, Soludo meeting last kick of dying horse, APC fires back at APGA

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the meeting of Governor Chukwuma Soludo with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa as the last kick of a dying horse, stressing that no amount of window dressing campaign could save the governor from imminent defeat.

The Campaign Organisation of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu/Senator Uche Ekwunife, in a statement, described the visit of the Anambra governor to Aso Rock as a sign of desperation to curry favour from Mr. President.

The statement, signed by Okechukwu Modebe for the APC governorship candidate, described Soludo as a man who has lost ground and is hovering everywhere in search of assistance.

He was reacting to a report: ‘Ukachukwu, Ekwunife jittery as Tinubu, Soludo meet in Villa,’ adding that there was nothing new with a state governor meeting with Mr. President and should not be celebrated as a great feat because the President is keen on getting Anambra State under the APC.

“We saw the ridiculous statement credited to the APGA and her unpopular candidate, celebrating a mere visit to the Commander-in-Chief and President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu. This has further vindicated our position that the governor is fast losing relevance among the Anambra electorate. “No amount of posing for the cameras with Mr. President will save Governor Soludo from this impending political doom because he has, for the past four years, misgoverned our state. This political premature ejaculation with the name of Mr. President also points to the fact that APGA and her candidate are exhibiting the last kick of a dying horse.

Modebe also reiterated the readiness of the party to win the Saturday August 16 re-run election, adding that the party carefully elected Chief Azuka Okwuosa, a man he described as political iron-gate to lead the political war cry and expressed optimism that the party would win the Anambra South senatorial re-run election.

“We don’t make a noise. We are focused. We have done our underground works and connected with the grassroots ahead of the election, and we, in APC, shall be taking the Anambra South re-run election as a litmus test to show APGA and Governor Soludo how unpopular they have become in the state.

He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be professional in the conduct of the election as an unbiased umpire, noting that the governorship election in the state is not going to be business as usual.
