From Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri
The Imo State Director of City Boy Movement, Honourable Goodluck Nwaneri, has praised Governor Hope Uzodimma for naming the new International Conference Centre after the late former Ohanaeze President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
Nwaneri who made the commendation during a press briefing in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Thursday noted that Uzodimma’s decision demonstrates deep love and respect for Ndigbo and the people of Imo State. The conference centre, now known as the Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre (IICC), was commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his recent working visit to the state.
He said: “I want to thank the governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for naming the world class IICC after our great hero and father, late Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu. For this singular act by the governor, he has proven that he respects the dead and has special love for Ndi Igbo and people of Ikeduru.” Nwaneri who is also the founder of the Goodluck Nwaneri Foundation further eulogised the governor on his massive road construction in the state as well as the newly commissioned Asumpta flyover linking the State to other parts of the South East.
“You can agree with me that our governor is a man of good taste. Just take a look at the new IICC. Uzodimma is a man of quality. Can you also see how solid all the roads have become? Those who ply Okigwe road should testify the good work of our governor, especially at Ekemele spot. That spot used to be a death trap but the governor came and proffered a lasting solution to it.
“You all saw what happened on Tuesday during the commissioning of some of his signature projects, including the IICC. It takes a man of Uzodimma’s capacity to pull all the political whims and caprices in Nigeria including the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and over 24 APC governors to Imo state. My brother, this is no mean feat.”
