Founder and General Overseer Omega Power Ministries (OPM) HRM King Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has distributed an iPad to all children in OPM free school for autism and Down-syndrome in commemoration of world autism day 2026.
In a ceremony held in their honor at his residence in GRA Port Harcourt on Thursday, the Man of God says that every life has value and that is why his passion for humanity endeared him to built a free school for autism.
‘ I have a strong belief that every life has value and that is why because of the passion I have for humanity, I decided to establish a free school for Autism”
He frowned at the Way Autistic children are being treated, adding that some neglect and abandon them.
” I look at the Way Autism children are treated, they are neglected ”
April 2 every year is set aside by the United Nations as world Autism Awareness Day. The theme for this year 2026 is ” Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value ”
The 2026 theme highlights and affirms the dignity and worth of all autistic people. While there are intentional human rights conventions safeguarding the rights of People with autism, they continue to face stigma, discrimination and barriers to participation.
In order to break the barrier and stop the stigma and discrimination against autistic children, King Chibuzor Chinyere built an autism school and normal school together while the teachers in autistic school are more professionals Separate from other teachers from the normal school. This idea brought all the children together as they play together in the same environment without discrimination or any form of stigmatization.
” I sat down and said in order to break that barrier of discrimination and any form of stigmatization, I decided to put up an autistic school and normal school together. The teachers in Autism school are special teachers. So during the break time the students meet together and play. That is how I was able to break that barrier” he said.
This year’s theme, thus is a call to action to recognize the inherent dignity and equal rights of all people with autism.
According to the Man of God, The iPad distributed to the autistic children has some educational materials on it to assist their learning.
“There are some educational materials that has been downloaded on the iPad which they will use to learn.”
King Chibuzor Chinyere therefore calls for equal education, good health healthcare facilities and care for all persons with autism and to provide inclusive opportunities to participate and thrive along with others. He reiterated the need to recognize and value every autistic child and treat them as human beings.
“Every child has Value, every child need to be treated as a human being”
When he was asked about his sponsors, the man of God says that the only Free school for autism and Down-syndrome he established in Nigeria is funded from tithes and offerings from the church.
He said if he has those who can partner with him, he will build more free schools for autistic children across every state in Nigeria and beyond.
”If with the little tithes and offerings, I have been able to do this, if I can get sponsors or partners, I will built the school in all the States in Nigeria”
Highlights of the ceremony include presentation of gifts, dancing and eating.
Recall that King Chibuzor Chinyere has built 43 free schools in Nigeria and one Free Girls Technical college in port Harcourt. He has also offered local and overseas scholarships to not fewer than 10,000 less privileged Nigerians.
