APC’s national chairman loses mom

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, yesterday, lost his mother.

Although information remains stretchy about the death of the matriarch, a member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) who broke the news to the Daily Sun said that the incident happened yesterday.

Meanwhile, the ruling party has dismissed the allegations that the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, lost his polling unit in the last weekend’s legislative election.

The party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, who set the record straight in his reaction backed up his claims with the official result (Form EC8A) indicating that APC won convincingly at the Minister’s polling unit – PU002, Ward 1 Babura Local Government.

He further emphasised that he polled 188 votes against the 164 votes scored by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to win his polling unit.

“APC wishes to clarify misleading reports regarding the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency by-election, particularly claiming that the Former Governor of Jigawa State and Minister of Defence, lost his polling unit to the opposition.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the official result (Form EC8A) indicates that APC won convincingly at the Minister’s polling unit – PU002, Ward 1, Babura Local Government with 188 votes as against the 164 votes polled by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“This resounding victory reflects the continued confidence of the people of Babura/Garki Federal Constituency in our party both in the state and at the federal level,” the National Secretary clarified in the statement.
