The Christian Faith Reporters Association has urged Nigerians to embrace peace, justice and unity as Christians mark Easter amid growing security concerns across the country.
In a statement signed by its President, Adeola Ogunlade, the association said the significance of Easter should serve as a reminder for citizens and leaders to uphold justice and protect lives.
The group expressed concern over recent killings in Jos on Palm Sunday, noting that the incident cast a shadow over the Easter celebration.
It stressed the need for urgent action to address insecurity, warning that continued violence threatens national stability and public safety.
The association called on security agencies to intensify efforts in tackling attacks and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.
CFRA also urged government authorities to adopt more effective and sustained measures to curb insecurity, particularly in vulnerable communities.
While commiserating with families affected by the violence, the group emphasised the importance of national unity and collective responsibility in overcoming the country’s challenges.
It further encouraged Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic lines during the Easter period.
