The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced a public review of two key policy frameworks designed to advance Nigeria’s digital economy: the Draft Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Live Events and the Draft Technical Standard for the Nigerian Data Exchange (NGDX).
The review session will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Digital Economy Complex, NCC Building, in Abuja. It is part of NITDA’s Rule-Making Process (RMP), which emphasises inclusive, sustainable, and globally aligned regulations for the country’s digital transformation.
The Draft DPI Live Environment is expected to enhance e-government services and create a framework that encourages collaboration between the public and private sectors in deploying digital infrastructure nationwide. The NGDX standard, on the other hand, aims to establish a secure, unified framework for data sharing across government and private institutions, with potential impact in finance, healthcare, education, agriculture, and other critical sectors.
According to NITDA, the NGDX incorporates global best practices in data protection, authentication, and privacy, positioning Nigeria as a leader in digital public infrastructure across Africa.
NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, said the agency is prioritising stakeholder input to ensure the success of the initiative. “Nigeria’s digital public infrastructure must be co-created with all stakeholders to guarantee resilience, foster innovation, and build trust,” he noted.
The initiatives align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and are supported by international partners, including the European Union’s Global Gateway initiative and technical collaborations with Finland, Estonia, Germany, and France.
Stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft documents ahead of the session.
