The Nnamdi Azikiwe University has officially launched its television platform, UNIZIK TV, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s drive toward digital transformation and global visibility. The development makes the university the first federal institution in South East Nigeria to establish a fully online-based television channel dedicated to academic and institutional advancement.
The newly launched UNIZIK TV is designed as a strategic platform to showcase the university’s research output, groundbreaking innovations, scholarship opportunities, and expanding international collaborations. The initiative is expected to serve as a dynamic interface between the university and the global academic community, reinforcing its commitment to excellence, knowledge dissemination, and digital engagement.
The launch was carried out under the leadership and directive of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie, whose visionary approach to administration continues to position the university at the forefront of innovation. His administration has consistently emphasised the integration of technology into education and communication, ensuring that the institution remains competitive in an increasingly digital world.
The successful rollout of UNIZIK TV reflects the forward-thinking leadership of Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie, aimed at amplifying the university’s voice on the global stage.
The Unizik TV project was driven and anchored by the Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor on New Media, Ekene Prosper Ezeumeanya, whose strategic communication efforts played a pivotal role in bringing the initiative to fruition.
