“Today, we know that the number one measure of success of any nation is health and you can’t mention health without thinking of the human infrastructure that drives health. And if we talk about human infrastructure, and the foundation is nursing

“The nurse is more important than the doctor. The nurse is everything and it’s predicted that in 2030, the world will experience a shortage of nurses. So, you are very important and we need to support what you’re doing,” he said.

Obi, who revealed that he visits 16 to 17 nursing schools annually across the country to render similar support, stressed the critical role nurses play in healthcare delivery.

Receiving the cheque, the Danmalikin Bauchi praised the commitment of Obi, describing him as a great leader.

Obi also paid an unscheduled visit to Intisharu Taufizul Quaranic Islamic School located in the Yelwa area of Bauchi.
