The Premier League will again have five Champions League spots next season.
This was verified on Tuesday night, following Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Sporting in the first leg of the quarterfinal.
With the game heading to a goalless draw, Kai Havertz eventually finished comfortably after receiving a ball from Gabriel Martinelli.
A fifth-place result in England’s top flight this season will now be enough for Champions League qualification.
The Premier League has won an additional space for the second consecutive year, as they currently lead the European Performance Standings.
Liverpool is now ranked fifth on the table, one point ahead of Chelsea in sixth place.
