The Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has hailed Nigeria’s Super Falcons as a powerful symbol of discipline, strength, and the unbreakable spirit of Nigerian women following their historic triumph at the 2024/2025 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Securing their 10th WAFCON title after a hard-fought victory against the host nation Morocco, the Super Falcons have once again showcased the remarkable resilience and character that define Nigerian women both on and off the football pitch.

“This is more than a win on the pitch; it is a powerful symbol of the strength, discipline, and unbreakable spirit of Nigerian women,” she declared, according to a statement by her media aide.

“The Super Falcons have shown that Nigerian women, when they lead, inspire a nation and shine brilliantly on the world stage.”

Sulaiman-Ibrahim noted that the team’s success embodies the values of resilience and teamwork, highlighting their grace under pressure throughout the competition.

She remarked, “Tonight, every Nigerian girl sees a reflection of her dreams in your victory. You have not only lifted a trophy—you have lifted hearts.”

Reaffirming her pride and commitment, the Minister applauded the strong backing from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose unparalleled support under the Renewed Hope Agenda has been vital to the team and the larger Nigerian sports ecosystem.

She said the Ministry of Women Affairs remains steadfast in its mission to promote and implement policies that empower Nigerian women and girls across all sectors, using the Super Falcons’ victory as a beacon of hope and a testament to what discipline, strength, and spirit can achieve.
