Ex-Ebonyi information commissioner declares for House of Reps

A former Commissioner for Information in Ebonyi State and former Deputy National Secretary of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chief Abia Onyeike, has declared for House Representative race in Afikpo/Edda federal constituency for the 2027 general election.

In a statement he personally signed, Onyeike said he intend to consult with stakeholders in the two local governments that make up the Constituency, to share his vision and exchange views with them on important issues relating to the future and developmental aspirations of the Federal Constituency.

“I wish to seize this opportunity to inform our people at home and in the Diaspora about my intention to vie for the slot of the House of Representatives for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency in the 2027 General Elections, under the platform of my party, the All Progressives Congress(APC).

“In the coming days and weeks, I intend to consult with stakeholders in the two LGAs, to share my vision and exchange views with them on important issues relating to the future and developmental aspirations of the Federal Constituency.

“I count on the support and solidarity of all our constituents and wish them merry Easter Celebrations”, he said.

Onyike was one of the founding fathers of the state.
