Iran rejects US ceasefire proposal, sets conditions

Iran has rejected a proposed ceasefire deal put forward by the United States in its ongoing conflict with Israel and the United States of America.

Despite mounting pressure and fresh threats from Washington Iranian state media outlet IRNA reported that Tehran communicated its position through diplomatic channels, outlining a detailed response to the American proposal without disclosing full terms of the offer.

“Iran has conveyed to Pakistan its response to the American proposal to end the war.”

“In this response set out in ten points Iran… has rejected a ceasefire and insists on the need for a definitive end to the conflict.”

The rejection comes after 38 days of sustained hostilities triggered by coordinated strikes from the US and Israel, with Iran retaliating through missile attacks across strategic targets in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump had earlier issued a deadline, warning that failure by Tehran to comply with key conditions particularly guaranteeing free passage through the Strait of Hormuz would result in targeted attacks on critical infrastructure.

In response, Iran presented its own demands, signalling that any resolution must go beyond a temporary ceasefire to address broader regional tensions and long-standing grievances.

“An end to conflicts in the region, a protocol for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, reconstruction, and the lifting of sanctions.”

Diplomatic efforts by multiple countries to de-escalate the crisis remain ongoing, but the hardened positions from both sides suggest that a near-term resolution may remain elusive.
